BASEBALL TIGERS EARN SIXTH SEED, FACE LYNCHBURG IN OPENING ROUND OF THE 2008 ODAC TOURNAMENT

SALEM, VA (April 21, 2008)—After Saturday's split with Roanoke College, the baseball Tigers were left with a lot of questions. Among those, were the Tigers in or out of the ODAC Baseball Tournament? The answer came soon enough, as the Tigers received word that they would be the sixth seed in the upcoming tournament to be hosted at City Stadium in Lynchburg, VA. The Tigers will face the first-seeded Lynchburg College on Thursday, April 25, at 11:00 am.

The Hornets earned the top seed as they finished the ODAC season with a 15-3 conference mark, while Virginia Wesleyan locked up the second seed with a weekend sweep to finish at 13-5 in conference. Randolph-Macon (12-6) and Bridgewater (11-7) earned the third and fourth seeds respectively, while Washington and Lee (10-8) and Hampden-Sydney (8-10) round out the six-team pairings.

Thursday's game against Lynchburg will be broadcasted live on 95.7 WFLO FM or on the Hampden-Sydney athletic website, www.hsc.edu/athletics. Radio coverage should begin at 10:45 am. For a complete schedule of the ODAC tournament, visit the conference website at www.odaconline.com.
