BASKETBALL TIGERS SET TO FACE HOOD COLLEGE IN OPENING ROUND OF NCAA TOURNAMENT

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (February 26, 2007)—After winning the 2007 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament Championship, Hampden-Sydney will face Hood College (21-7) in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.  The Tigers and Blazers will face off on Friday, March 2 at the Batten Center in Norfolk, VA.  Tip-off is set for 6:00 pm.

Hood was the first seed in the Capital Athletic Conference and earned an at-large Pool C bid after losing to Catholic University in the finals of their conference championship.  Hampden-Sydney (18-10) earned an automatic bid after defeating Roanoke College, 77-62, en route to winning their tenth ODAC Basketball Championship.
