H-SC CROSS COUNTRY TAKES FIFTH IN
ODAC CHAMPIONSHIP  

HARRISONBURG, VA – Hampden-Sydney’s cross country team finished up it's season with a fifth place finish in the ODAC Championship hosted at Eastern Mennonite University.  The Tigers finished with a total of 146 team points behind EMU(114 points), Lynchburg(55 points), Roanoke(46 points), and W&L(32 points).  

Freshman Matt Moore (Midlothian, VA/Clover Hill) ended his outstanding freshman year with a time of 30:42.23 for a 17th place finish out of 73 total runners and has been the top scorer for the Tigers in every meet this year. 

After Moore, the Tigers freshman Nick Davis (Midlothian, VA/Clover Hill) and senior captain Ken Bradley (Virginia Beach, VA/Tallwood) finished with nearly identical times.  The duo placed 34th and 35th as Davis finished with a time of 32:15.12  followed closely by Bradley at 32:18.13.

Crossing the finish line shortly after was freshman Pete Crowe (Boalsburg, PA/State College Area HS) at 33:29 along with Phil Tobelmann (Wytheville, VA/George Wythe) at 35:21.         

All together, the Tigers finished with a combined time of 2:44:06 balancing out to an average of 32:49.

Washington & Lee claimed the ODAC title with another first place finish scoring 32 total team points followed by Roanoke with 46 points.  Lynchburg ended in third with 55 points while Eastern Mennonite finished with 114 points just in front of Hampden-Sydney at 146 points.  Guilford College and Virginia Wesleyan trailed them at 178 and 185 while Emory & Henry brought up the rear with 196.     

The Tigers will graduate their one and only senior; team captain Ken Bradley.
