XC TIGERS BOAST SEVERAL PERSONAL BESTS AT TRIBE OPEN

WILLIAMSBURG, VA (October 18, 2008)—Hampden-Sydney cross country captain George Heeschen (Earlysville, VA/Albemarle) again led the Tigers and placed 22nd overall at the Tribe Open this past Saturday. Heeschen recorded a time of 28:30, and was followed by teammate Robert Melvin (Alexandria, VA/Mount Vernon), who came in 2nd for the Tigers with a time of 29:13.

The Tigers also had three harriers post personal best times. Freshman Arne Ulbrich (Grove City, PA) came in with a time of 29.37; sophomore Dan Isaacs (Troutville, VA/Lord Botetourt) posted a 31:02, and junior David Herzog (Bristol, TN/Tennessee) rounded out the group with a time of 35:06.  

Hampden-Sydney will return to action next Saturday, November 1, as the team will participate in the ODAC Championship in Virginia Beach, VA.
