XC TIGERS RUNNERS UP AT VA STATE MEET

PEEN LAIRD, VA (October 4, 2008)—Hampden-Sydney cross country captain George Heeschen (Earlysville, VA/Albemarle) continues to lead the Tigers as he had an outstanding day at the VA State Meet. Heeschen ran an impressive 29:08 to lead Hampden-Sydney and place him third overall. Sophomore Arne Ulbrich (Grove City, PA) also had a strong showing with a time of 30:41. With his time, Ulbrich was the second Tiger to place in the top ten as he finished eighth. With the help of Heeschen and Ulbrich, Hampden-Sydney was able to place second overall. 

Hampden-Sydney will return to action next Saturday, the 18th as they  travel to William and Mary to compete in the Tribe Invitational.
