412 yards, five touchdowns through the air helped Tigers overcome BC SALEM, VA (October 6, 2008)—There have been two 400-yard passing games by ODAC quarterbacks in the 2008 season. Hampden-Sydney's Corey Sedlar (Richmond, VA/Mills Godwin) is the proud owner of both. His latest 400-yard outburst helped Hampden-Sydney defeat Bridgewater, 37-34, last Saturday at Jopson Field, while earning him a second consecutive ODAC Offensive Player of the Week nod. The victory snapped a four game losing streak at the Eagles' home venue and kept the Tigers perfect on the year at 5-0, 2-0 in the ODAC. The 412 passing yards were accompanied by an ODAC season-high five scoring tosses, each to a different receiver. Sedlar also threw for a season-best 424 yards in week two against Gettysburg. Against Bridgewater, Sedlar completed a pass to eight different receivers in all and the touchdown strikes covered distances of 71, 20, 13, 30 and 51 yards. On the season, Sedlar leads the league in passing yardage (1,697), passing yards-per-game (339.4), touchdown passes (14) and passing efficiency (150.6). His 65.8 completion percentage is also tops in the ODAC. Sedlar and the Tigers will return to the field of play when they host Emory and Henry on Homecoming, Saturday, October 11 at 1 pm. www.hsc.edu/athletics |
