SIMPSON EARNS SECOND CONSECUTIVE POW HONOR

285 total yards, four touchdowns make Simpson ODAC's best in week two

SALEM, VA (September 14, 2008)—Tigers' senior running back Josh Simpson (Richmond, VA/Mills Godwin) has garnered his second Old Dominion Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week award in as many weeks following his efforts in Hampden-Sydney's 45-40 victory over Gettysburg College last Saturday.

One week after setting the ODAC mark for career touchdowns with four scores against North Carolina Wesleyan, Simpson added onto his historic mark, duplicating his opening week performance with four more touchdowns and 285 yards of total offense. Simpson rushed 36 times for 190 yards and caught eight passes for 95 yards in the win; all four of his touchdowns came via the ground.

Simpson, who set the conference single-season rushing touchdown record in 2007 with 21 ground scores, has already tallied seven touchdowns on the ground in the first two games of this season.

Simpson will make his 2008 home debut along with the rest of his Tiger teammates this Saturday, September 20 when Hampden-Sydney hosts King's College of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 pm.
