2004-2005 PLAYER PROFILE

2004-05:  Mitakides returns in 2004-05 after an outstanding freshman campaign a year ago in which he finished second on the team with a season stroke average of 78.9… Through the Tigers’ first four events of the 2004 fall season, Mitakides led the team with a 75.5 stroke average… Did not score out of the 70’s throughout the six fall rounds… Finished the fall with three consecutive top-ten finishes including a fifth-place finish at the Virginia State Championships, a seventh-place finish at the Ted Keller Invitational and an eighth-place finish at the Tom O’Briant Memorial… Fired a low round of 73 and followed it with a 76 to finish at 149 and in fifth-place at the Virginia Championship.

2003-04: Had an impressive start to the 2003-2004 season as he completed the fall with a team-best 77.7 stroke average…. Won individual medalist honors with a two-day score of 148 (74-74) in the Washington and Lee/Buck Leslie Memorial.

High School:  Played golf four years at Centerville High School and earned two state championships… Also participated in track and field.

Personal:  Son of John and Louella Mitakides… Born July 24, 1984… Has one sister, Katherine… Majoring in biology and fine arts.
