H-SC GOLFERS SECURE FOURTH PLACE FINISH AT TED KELLER

Hampden-Sydney Event Results

GLEN ALLEN, VA (September 14, 2008)--The Hampden-Sydney golf team placed two players in the top-seven en route to a fourth place finish at the 2008 Ted Keller Invitational hosted by Randolph-Macon College. Senior Richard Adams (Great Falls, VA/Heights School) and junior Britt Parnell (Midlothian, VA/Trinity Episcopal) each enjoyed stellar second rounds to shoot 150 over the two day event and secure ties for seventh place overall.

Adams notched an even par, 71 on Sunday while Parnell registered a one-over, 72 for his final round at Hunting Hawk Golf Club.

Freshman Ronnie Fultz (Fieldale, VA/Carlisle School) finished in a tie for 30th place, shooting 153 (79-74). Josh Bascom (Charlottesville, VA/Western Albemarle) and Sam Wallace (Williamsburg, VA/Jamestown) rounded out the Hampden-Sydney lineup with two day totals of 160 (79-81) and 162 (83-79), respectively.

Greensboro College's Brock Elder captured medalist honors with a two-over, 144. Bridgewater College took the team title with a two-day total of 596 (+28). Greensboro (+31), Christopher Newport University (+38), Hampden-Sydney (+47) and Franklin & Marshall College (+49) accounted for the remainder of the top-five team finishers.
