Matt Green is in his first year as Hampden-Sydney Sports Information Director
after serving one year as Assistant Sports Information Director under former SID
Bryan Hicks. Green is the primary media and marketing
contact for all eight NCAA sanctioned sports programs at The College.
Green was named SID at Hampden-Sydney in June 2008 after serving as
a student assistant for two years prior to his stint as Assistant SID. He is
responsible for all marketing, media relations, and sports information aspects
of the Hampden-Sydney athletics programs. He writes, edits, and designs
media publications that are distributed through the Hampden-Sydney Athletics
Department and supervises and maintains the College’s athletics website for each
team, manually updating the sites and providing written content.
Green graduated from Hampden-Sydney in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in
Mathematical Economics. After transferring from Dartmouth College in 2004,
Green was a three-year member of the Tiger basketball squad and, in addition
to helping lead the Tigers to its tenth ODAC Championship, earned 2007 ODAC
Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors as a senior captain. While a student at Hampden-Sydney,
Green worked for the Sports
Information Department, helping with game-day operations for soccer, baseball,
and lacrosse.
Green is a native of Richmond, VA and currently resides in Farmville.
