Assistant Lacrosse Coach
Jason Rostan
Jason Rostan, a 2003 graduate of Hampden-Sydney College and two-time USILA
All-American for the Tiger lacrosse team, enters his fourth year
as an assistant coach. Rostan is the son of current Hampden-Sydney College
lacrosse head coach, Ray Rostan.
Rostan began his coaching career in the 2003 season as a
graduate assistant for the Tigers. "I am truly excited for the continuing
opportunity to serve my alma mater," said Rostan. One of the key attributes that
Rostan brings to the Tiger team is respectability. Players look up to him because he has had
success and is fully aware of what sacrifices are required in order to be
competitive at the highest level. In addition, the players can relate to Rostan
as he has walked in their shoes not so long ago. "I look forward to working
hard, both in recruiting and on the field, to continue the tradition of the
Tiger lacrosse program."

Rostan was a four-year letter winner for the Hampden-Sydney
lacrosse team and earned USILA All-America honors twice in his career, garnering
first team accolades in 2002 and second team honors in 2003. In the summer of
2005, Rostan was invited to tryout for Team USA.
In addition, he scored All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference
honors three times, was twice voted to the first team, and in 2002 earned ODAC
Player of the Year nods.
"Jason is without question a product of Hampden-Sydney and our
college community. As a 2003 graduate of Hampden-Sydney, he is very familiar
with the traditions of our college and our lacrosse program. He understands the
hard work, drive and consistency that it takes to be a successful
student-athlete at our college. He has a creative mind for the game and will
bring fresh ideas to our program."- Head Coach, Ray Rostan-
A Prince Edward High School product, Rostan earned First Team All-Region
honors in baseball while batting .520 for the Eagles, and was First Team
All-State and Southside Player of the Year for the soccer team." He currently
resides in Hampden-Sydney, VA.
