College design rules require banner image, left navigation, and footer to be used consistently across all www.hsc.edu pages. The second or third column on a page is left to the design of the individual or department. Contact the webmaster or the Web Oversight Committee for further information.

• 720 pixels wide
• 3-column:  140  380  180
• 2-column:  140  570 

Colors

• H-SC Red:  #660000
• H-SC Gray:  #cccccc

Filenames

• All lowercase (Internet is case sensitive)
• .html file extension
• no spaces in filenames

Images

• .jpg or .gif file extensions (.gif best for line art, .jpg best for more variations in colors)
• all lowercase filenames
• no spaces in filenames
• standard 72 dpi medium quality
• may increase dpi & quality but at increased download time
• maximum width 570 pixels on two column page
• maximum width 380 pixels in center column on 3 column page
• maximum width 170 pixels in right column on 3 column page

Web Server Account Instructions

• Content Editors for www.hsc.edu
  Any faculty or staff member may request an account to edit departmental web content on the College website. Use the request form and have it signed by the appropriate supervisor. Using appropriate web design standards as listed above is required.
