Agudath Shalom Synagogue
This is the Jewish synagogue
closest to Hampden-Sydney College and is located at 2055 Langhorne
Road in Lynchburg. The congregation is officially Reform Jewish
but would also be a place where Conservative Jews would be
comfortable.
Baptist Collegiate
Ministries
The Baptist Collegiate
Ministries at Longwood University
is a Christian group that is open to all Hampden-Sydney College
students. The BCM meets weekly for fellowship, guest speakers,
praise and worship, and Bible study.
Catholic Campus Ministry
The HSC Catholic Campus Ministry
meets every Sunday to go to mass and meets every Wednesday for
student meetings. The Catholic ministry offers religious,
educational, and social opportunities, as well as participation in
campus, parish, and diocesan programs. For more information,

Fellowship
of Christian Athletes (F.C.A.)
The Hampden-Sydney College
chapter of the national organization of Fellowship of Christian
Athletes is open to anyone. They meet every Sunday night in
Kirby Fieldhouse at 8:00 p.m. If you have any questions or would like
to know more about F.C.A., you can contact the group's advisor,
Andy McPherson at 223-6257.
Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship (I.V.C.F.)
InterVarsity Christian
Fellowship is an interdenominational group open to all students. This
chapter services both Hampden-Sydney and Longwood Colleges. They
have Friday evening fellowships, as well as Bible Studies on Tuesdays
at 8:30pm and Thursdays at 9pm. IVCF also schedules prayer
groups, community service projects, picnics and regional conferences.
The group meets on Fridays at 7:00 p.m. in Jeffers Auditorium on the
Longwood campus. Rides to Longwood can easily be arranged.

Presbyterian
Student Ministry
Students regularly
worship with campus and community members at the 11a.m. worship service at College
Church and participate in other congregational
activities. Special student groups are sometimes highlighted on
designated Sundays. Students are encouraged to contact the
college chaplain, Dr. William Thompson, for more information at
223-6269.
The
Wesley Foundation Campus Ministry
The Wesley Foundation Campus
Ministry of Farmville, VA, serving Longwood and Hampden-Sydney
Colleges, is a campus-based expression of the ministry of the United
Methodist Church. There is a weekly Tuesday evening meal/program
and other events scheduled throughout the academic year.

Young
Life
Young
Life is the Hampden-Sydney and Longwood chapter of a
non-denominational para-church ministry open to all students
interested in becoming Young Life leaders in the community with the
mission of introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ. Young Life
sponsors Freshman Fellowship, a fellowship group open to all
freshmen and anyone interested in Young Life, during Fall Semester.
During Spring semester, Freshman Fellowship involves leadership
training and, upon completion, interested participants may become
Young Life leaders at local high schools. For info, contact
