A. Our fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30. If you made a gift before
July 1, it enabled us to reach last year's goal. Help us reach this year's
goal by making your gift before June 30.
Q. Since I am
unable to make a substantial gift to the College now, should I wait until
I can make a larger contribution?
A. Any
gift, large or small, helps the College's Alumni Participation Rate. The
Alumni Participation Rate is a major factor that contributes to College
rankings, corporate and foundation support, etc. Show your support for

What is the Society of Founders, and why is it important?
A.
The Society of Founders recognizes Hampden-Sydney College's most
steadfast followers--young and old. Last year 610 Founders(50 of whom are
Young Founders) gave over half of the College's $2.26 million Annual Fund
and over 80% of the $9 million total. Simply stated, Founders are the
"life-blood" of the College.  Q. Why should I give to the Annual Fund?
A.
For the students! Each Annual Fund gift goes directly
into the College's operating budget to provide resources for students.
Twenty percent of the Annual Fund goes for financial aid: 67% of
Hampden-Sydney students receive grants or scholarships totaling $5.8
million. This support helps create "good men and good
citizens." The remainder of the Annual Fund provides for the
"atmosphere of sound learning."
Q. I would like to make a gift to the Annual Fund. What
