A. Any gift, large or small, helps the College's Alumni Participation Rate. The Alumni Participation Rate is a major factor that contributes to College rankings, corporate and foundation support, etc. Show your support for Hampden-Sydney College: help us raise our participation rate. 

Q. What is the Society of Founders, and why is it important?
A. The Society of Founders recognizes Hampden-Sydney College's most steadfast followers--young and old. Last year 610 Founders(50 of whom are Young Founders) gave over half of the College's $2.26 million Hampden-Sydney Fund and over 80% of the $9 million total. Simply stated, Founders are the "life-blood" of the College.

Q. Why should I give to the Hampden-Sydney Fund?
A. For the students! Each Hampden-Sydney Fund gift goes directly into the College's operating budget to provide resources for students. Twenty percent of the Hampden-Sydney Fund goes for financial aid: 67% of Hampden-Sydney students receive grants or scholarships totaling $5.8 million. This support helps create "good men and good citizens." The remainder of the Hampden-Sydney Fund provides for the "atmosphere of sound learning."
