Preparation and Evaluation of Baylis-Hillman Catalyst with Solid-State Support
A Baylis-Hillman reaction catalyst, 1-(3-aminopropyl)imidazole, was attached to 3-(Glycidoxy)propyl-functionalized silica gel with the influence of lithium trifluoromethanesulfonate. The Baylis-Hillman reaction was catalyzed by the solid-state supported catalyst, 3-(Glycidoxy)propyl-functionalized silica gel with 1-(3-Aminopropyl)imidazole. Also reported, the unsuccessful attempts to attach 1,5,7-triazabicyclo[4.4.0]dec-5-ene, 3-(Isocyanato)propyl-functionalized silica gel, and Isocyanate, polymer bound to 3-(Glycidoxy)propyl-functionalized silica gel. 1,3,4,6,7,8-hexahydro-2H-pyrimido(1,2-a)pyrimidine polymer bound was found not to catalyze the Baylis-Hillman reaction.
