Work of Art from Pam FoxThe work of Fine Arts Professor Pam Fox is on display at Mary Baldwin College’s Hunt Gallery from January 18 through February 11, 2016. Fox is an award-winning photographer, including two Virginia Commission for the Arts Fellowship Grants, two Virginia Museum Fellowships, and the Theresa Pollack Prize in Photography. She has an MFA in photography from Virginia Commonwealth University.

The exhibit, “Sticks and Stones: New Work by Pam Fox,” explores a range of dichotomies: solid and translucent; imagined and concrete; mechanical and gestural; and perceived and obscured.

Fox says, “What intrigues me about photography is its compelling allusion to physical reality. This strong tie to the temporal gives photographic images the quality of having been derived from the ‘real’ world. In creating these images, I retain a photographic connection to the physical form while fusing it with the more malleable processes of collage, drawing, and painting.”
