On March 8, Hampden-Sydney alumnus Kagey Parrish and his wife, Laura Wortman, known as The Honey Dewdrops, will perform at Hampden-Sydney College.

honey dewdropsThe Americana singer-songwriters have an unmistakable musical compatibility and closeness of sound. According to Acoustic Guitar Magazine, the Honey Dewdrops have "handcrafted sound centered on swarming harmonies and acoustic guitars that churn like a paddlewheel and shimmer like heat waves on the highway." They have shared the stage with many Folk and Americana greats such as The SteelDrivers, Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn, Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams, Shawn Mullins, The Gibson Brothers, and Mary Gauthier. The Honey Dewdrops' song, "Same Old," was listed on NPR Music's Favorite Songs of 2015.

This event, sponsored by the Fine Arts Department and American Acoustic Music Series at Hampden-Sydney College, is free and open to the public. The country and roots duo will perform in the Parents and Friends Lounge at 7:30 PM. Parking will be available on Via Sacra and behind Venable Hall.
