On Wednesday, February 10, Hampden-Sydney College will host Lise Keiter to perform as a part of the Hampden-Sydney College Music Series. The solo pianist will perform the music of Chopin, Greig, Lili Boulanger, and others.

On Wednesday, February 10, Hampden-Sydney College will host Lise Keiter to perform as a part of the Hampden-Sydney College Music Series. The solo pianist will perform the music of Chopin, Greig, Lili Boulanger, and others. 

Lise Keiter is currently Music Department Chair at Mary Baldwin College. In 2005, she developed an all-women composers program of solo piano works. Originally from Charleston, Illinois, she has a Bachelor of Music from the Oberlin Conservatory, and a Master's Degree and a Doctorate of Music from Indiana University. It was at Indiana University that she was honored with the Award for Outstanding Teaching. She is hailed for her commitment to furthering the education of young musicians and has maintained a studio of high school students who have continued with success to various colleges, conservatories, and graduate programs. 

Throughout her career, Keiter has performed throughout the U.S. and in Europe. She is highly sought after for her performances and the Journal Gazette & Times Courier regarded one of her recitals as "superb". 

The concert will take place in Crawley Forum at 7:30 PM and is free and open to the public. This series is part of Hampden-Sydney's continuing commitment to the intellectual and cultural enrichment of the Southside community.
