Hampden-Sydney College is mourning the loss of Alexander Byrne '19, a senior who passed away Friday following a tragic car accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Byrne family, as well as the families and friends of the three other students involved in the accident, who remain hospitalized.
A memorial service for Alex is planned for Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 11am at Hampden-Sydney College. Details for a Friday night vigil and Saturday's service and reception are below:
Friday, March 1 at 6pm — Vigil, Theta Chi House
Saturday, March 2 at 11am — Memorial Service, College Church
Saturday, March 2 immediately following the service — Reception, Brown Student Center
Please keep the Byrne family in your thoughts and prayers during this time of mourning. We are also sending prayers of healing to our students who remain hospitalized and their families and friends.
