Four students were involved in a car accident off-campus on Friday, and sadly, one of the students died at the scene. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the student who passed away, as well as the other students, who remain hospitalized.
We have shared with our students and the campus community that counseling services are available to all who are struggling with this tragedy. Losing a member of our community is absolutely heartbreaking, and we must all support each other in this time of grief.
Many in the extended Hampden-Sydney family have reached out to offer support to these students and their families and friends. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
We will share details of a memorial service when appropriate, but for now are respecting the family’s privacy as they mourn this loss.
