The Cathedral/Mosque in Cordoba was one of the most interesting cultural sites to visit because of the amazing conglomeration of Eastern/Muslim and Western/Christian architecture and design. The columns and candy cane arches in the background are left over from the original intention of the building as a Mosque. But in the center of the huge pattern of columns awkwardly lies a quintisential Cathedral structures of a high altar and a choir section, which demonstrate how the Christians converted wonderful Muslim architecture to suit their purposes after finally conquering the Muslim Empire in Andalucia in the fifteenth century.
