 ORIENTATION 2009

New Student Orientation New Student Orientation
Freshmen enjoy the games

Andrew JoynerHampden-Sydney Brothers,

Welcome to Hampden-Sydney College! I hope that you are as excited as I am about beginning your journey. The first few days on campus this fall will be hectic, but they serve to give you a solid understanding of the workings of the College. You will learn about academe, meals in the Commons, social life, expectations of you as a Hampden-Sydney Man and our beloved Honor Code. I charge you to take full advantage of the orientation events, participate, meet your peers, and absorb the rich history and traditions that Hampden-Sydney College has to offer. It will not be long before we are watching football games, listening to bands, and going to class. Your Resident Advisors are here to help and to facilitate any questions you might have; however, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding student life or stop by our rooms. WE are all so glad you are here. Enjoy orientation, learn a few things, and have fun during your four years here on the Hill.

Sincerely,
Andrew B. Joyner ’11

Contact Me!

Thank you for visiting the Student Life website. I am Mladen Cvijanovic, and I am the Assistant Dean of Students for Intercultural Affairs and New Student Orientation. I have also assumed the duties of the Student Life website. One of my goals is to promote our community’s awareness of diversity. I will do this by bringing many guest speakers to campus and organizing seminars and discussion panels to promote a culturally sound academic community.

I graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in 2008 and am delighted to be able to continue to work for my Alma Mater. I am a native of Serbia where I was born and raised. I love Hampden- Sydney and believe that this is a special place to work and live. I am proud of our students and their achievements and am dedicated to the task of making sure our students have all the tools to ensure that their college experience is the best.  I encourage anyone with positive ideas or suggestions to contact me. I have an open door policy for students and others who share the same love and passion for Hampden-Sydney College as I do.
