Vehicle Registration Vehicle registration is available immediately. The link to the online form is located in your <a href="https://admission.hsc.edu/status" target="_blank" rel="noopener">admission portal</a>  in your Enrollment Checklist. After you complete the online form, a parking sticker will be assigned to you. The sticker will be issued to you either at Summer Orientation or at the matriculation check-in on August 20, 2026. Housing Questionnaire If you have not completed your housing selection, your preferred housing  selection will occur in the order in which you submitted your enrollment deposit. You must complete your Housing Questionnaire located in your <a href="https://admission.hsc.edu/status" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> admission portal</a> to begin the housing selection process. Living and Learning Communities In the Housing Questionnaire, you will be given the opportunity to opt into the College’s Living and Learning Program. In Living and Learning Communities, groups of 8–12 freshmen share a freshman academic advisor, are enrolled together in a class, and live together in the same residence hall. These themed communities bring students together for a shared academic and co-curricular experience that improves the quality of classroom time and arms freshmen with the personal connections and self-advocacy skills essential for a successful and fulfilling college experience. Communities for 2026–2027 will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis with a deadline of May 15. Your academic advisor will assist you with your transition to H-SC academics and its policies and procedures. The members of the Office of Academic Success will be working with your assigned advisor to develop a first semester course schedule for you. To assist in this process, you should complete the online Academic Interest Survey no later than May 31. This survey is designed to give you the opportunity to expand upon your academic interests and goals. In addition, if you have taken International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP), or dual enrollment (DE) courses while enrolled in high school, please request your final official scores/transcripts be sent from the institution (IB scores must be received from IBO.org, AP scores from CollegeBoard.org, and DE final official transcripts from the college or community college through which you were registered). You will have the opportunity to visit Residence Life in the Office of Student Affairs or the Computing Center if you have issues loading it on your phone or watch. Computers If you plan to purchase a new computer, you can review our recommended configuration and check for educational pricing for college students with Apple and Dell on the <a href="/computing-center">Computing Center web page.</a> Printers You do not need to bring a printer with you, as public printers are available in various labs and other locations on campus. If you do bring a printer for your room, it must be a wired (USB) printer, as wireless printers do not work well with the campus WiFi system and can cause wireless interference. Microsoft Office Suite You do not need to purchase Microsoft Office Suite. Hampden-Sydney College has a Microsoft site license that entitles students to install the Microsoft Office Suite on up to five devices. Installation instructions are listed on the <a href="/computing-center/office-365-and-email-instructions">Computing Center website. </a> Wireless Wireless is available throughout campus in all academic buildings and student housing. Personal routers with WiFi are prohibited. The Office of Academic Success will use your Admission Portfolio, advisor recommendations, and Academic Interest Survey to develop your fall course schedule during the early weeks of June. By mid-June, your schedule will be ready for review. To review and make adjustments to your fall schedule, you must register for a virtual summer advising session. Available advising dates are June 17, 18, 19, 22, or 23. Before signing up for a virtual summer advising session, you must complete the digital access process from the Computing Center. Instructions for this process will be published in the Enrollment Checklist in your <a href="https://admission.hsc.edu/status" target="_blank" rel="noopener">admission portal</a> at the end of May. After your digital access has been established, the admission portal will prompt you to select ONE advising day from the dates listed above. You must be available between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on your selected day. On the morning of your advising session, you will receive a Microsoft Teams link in your H-SC email for your individual appointment. At your scheduled advising time, please have your Tiger Web username and newly established password available. During the session, your advisor will: <ul> <li>Walk you through logging into Tiger Web</li> <li>Show you how to access your fall schedule</li> <li>Discuss any needed schedule adjustments</li> </ul> For the best experience, please plan to attend the advising session using a laptop rather than a mobile device. Please note: Your schedule is not set in stone. Adjustments may be made throughout the summer as AP scores are received, dual enrollment transcripts are processed, or academic plans change. Student Health Forms Health forms (physical exam--available to print--insurance card, immunization records, emergency treatment consent, and health history) are located under your Enrollment Checklist in your <a href="https://admission.hsc.edu/status" target="_blank" rel="noopener">admission portal.</a>These forms are linked to the Student Health Portal (hsc.studenthealthportal.com) and will be available after you receive your H-SC login credentials. Completion of all forms is required before August 1. Access to the courses will be available in your <a href="https://admission.hsc.edu/status" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Admission Portal</a> on your Enrollment Checklist starting Tuesday, June 9. 3rd Millennium Courses include: <ol> <li>Alcohol Wise</li> <li>Hazing and Hosting</li> <li>Consent and Respect</li> </ol> Visit go.hsc.edu/3rdMil and use your H-SC email and password to login. Each course educates and empowers your decision-making skills as you enter college and guides you to make healthy choices for yourself and others. Allow plenty of time to complete the courses; you may complete them at your leisure in multiple sittings. Your responses are strictly confidential. After you complete a course, the course will be checked off to indicate completion. Hampden-Sydney College asks you to complete PART ONE of each course by August 1. Part Two is offered in October and is optional. Thank you for completing all 3 of the online courses promptly. Reviewing your Fall Semester Schedule In June, you will be asked through your student portal to establish a virtual advising meeting to review your fall schedule with an academic advisor. At that time, you will be able to discuss and make changes to your fall schedule so that it meets your needs. Again, it is important for H-SC to have any final official college transcripts with your DE credits, and AP or IB scores to ensure that you are receiving the appropriate credits and are properly registered. In August you will have one more opportunity to make changes to your fall schedule during Fall Orientation. You will use your H-SC email login information to access the textbook portal. Within the portal, select the listed materials, or create a list of the exact ISBN numbers for each of the materials to shop around for a better value. Check Your Financial Aid Status To ensure that all financial aid is credited to your account prior to the first fall semester billing, please check for any missing documents by June 15. If any financial aid documents are needed from you, a letter or e-mail will be sent providing detailed instructions. Additionally, please refer to the Financial Aid Checklist located in your <a href="https://admission.hsc.edu/status" target="_blank" rel="noopener">admission portal.</a> Tuition and Fee Payment Once registered for housing and classes, you will be billed for tuition, fees, room and board. You will access billing through Transact via Tiger Web (we do not send bills by postal service). Payment is due August 1 for Fall and January 1 for Spring. Tuition and fees may be covered by certain types of aid from outside agencies which will be invoiced after classes start. Under special  circumstances, outside agencies providing tuition assistance may be billed at later dates. If you do not qualify for these types of aid, you must pay tuition and fees not covered by financial aid by the due date.
