Application Options and Deadlines
for the class entering the fall of 2027
Early Decision I (binding)
<ul>
<li>Early decision (ED) is a binding agreement which means you're commitment to enroll is signified by your admission to the college.</li>
<li>This option is if H-SC is your first choice</li>
<li>ED applicants cannot apply Early Decision to other institutions.</li>
<li>ED applicants can apply EA to other colleges, but must withdraw those applications if admitted to Hampden-Sydney</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Application Deadline: </strong>October 15, 2026<br /><strong>Notification of decision:</strong> ED I admission decisions released for completed application by November 6</p>
Early Action I (non-binding)
<ul>
<li>Early Action (EA) applicants may apply to other Early Action and Early Decision colleges.</li>
<li>Binding Early Decision and Early Decision II applicants to other schools can also apply Early Action to Hampden-Sydney.</li>
<li>You have until May 1, 2027, to confirm your enrollment.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Application Deadline: </strong>November 2, 2026<br /><strong>Notification of decision:</strong> EA I admission decision released for completed application by November 24</p>
Early Action II (non-binding)
<ul>
<li>Early Action (EA) applicants may apply to other Early Action and Early Decision colleges.</li>
<li>Binding Early Decision and Early Decision II applicants to other schools can also apply Early Action to Hampden-Sydney.</li>
<li>You have until May 1, 2027, to confirm your enrollment.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Application Deadline: </strong>December 1, 2026<br /><strong>Notification of decision:</strong> EA II admission decisions are released for completed application by December 18</p>

<p><strong>Application Deadline (<em>Top Scholar Priority Deadline</em>): </strong>January 15, 2027<br /><strong>Notification of decision:</strong> ED II admission decisions released for completed application by February 5</p>
Regular Decision
<ul>
<li>Regular Decision (RD) applicants may apply ED or EA to other institutions.</li>
<li>You have until May 1, 2027, to confirm your enrollment.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Application Deadline: </strong>February 1, 2027<br /><strong>Notification of decision:</strong> RD admission decisions released for complete application in mid- February</p>
