Research Interests and potential topics for students

I could supervise projects related to Slavic literatures, folklore, culture, and languages. When it comes to the folklore part I can also do folklore (legends, fairy tales, customs, traditions, etc.) from various cultures and time periods. One of my newly discovered passions which I will also explore in my spring semester Global Cultures classes is the constantly changing and evolving "narrative of the human body" across cultures and time periods (we will look at aspects such as birth and death, sex, medicine, body marks, perceptions of beauty, etc.)
