Director of Alumni Relations
The Director of Alumni Relations is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading a comprehensive program of activities and services designed to inform, involve, and engage the alumni of Hampden-Sydney College. The Director oversees all aspects of the College's programs for alumni engagement, including regional alumni clubs, affinity groups, and the reunion program. In addition to supervising the Alumni Office staff, the Director works collaboratively with the Alumni Association Board of Directors, alumni volunteers, and college staff from multiple campus departments to effectively involve and engage alumni in the life of the College.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; related experience in public relations, higher education, non-profit administration and/or fundraising is highly desirable. Outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills required. Exceptional organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple, competing projects and deadlines required. Must be willing to work nights and weekends; travel is required.

Major Gifts Officer
Hampden-Sydney College, a private liberal arts institution with a commitment to excellence in undergraduate education, invites applicants for a Major Gifts Officer. The successful candidate will be a member of the Institutional Advancement staff and will work directly with the Vice-President for Institutional Advancement and other advancement staff members in planning and implementing the fund raising tactics for those individuals with the ability to make unrestricted, restricted, planned, and/or capital gifts of $25,000 or more on an annual basis. This position will be hired with the intention of locating the Major Gifts officer in a regional setting somewhere in the Southeast.

The successful candidate should possess a high level of initiative, be able to work with little or no supervision, and expect to travel extensively. He or she will be responsible for furthering and maintaining the financial support of the existing and potential constituencies of the College, which include alumni, parents, and friends. Duties will include developing the solicitation strategies for those major gift prospects assigned (approximately 100); tracking (which includes visiting, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding) those prospects; and assisting the Vice-President, Trustees, key volunteers, and other Institutional Advancement Staff that may be assigned to assist with their solicitation strategies and select projects. Because we intend for this position to be based remotely, it is required that the candidate be able to strongly demonstrate independence and a work ethic that requires minimal supervision and high accountability.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five or more years' experience in development required. CFRE is preferred. Capital campaign experience and documented fundraising ability are essential.

Senior Director of Annual Giving
Hampden-Sydney College seeks a hire a senior-level advancement professional for the newly created position of Senior Director of Annual Giving. This position reports to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, and will be tasked with significantly growing the College's programs that raise unrestricted gift revenues in support of the College's mission. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to make a major impact at one of America's oldest and best liberal arts Colleges.

The Senior Director of Annual Giving will lead a professional staff of four with dedicated responsibilities for leadership annual gifts, reunion gifts, and young alumni/student giving. It is imperative that candidates for this position have an exceptional background in data analytics, predictive modeling and in executing a multi-channel annual giving program.

Candidates must have a minimum of 5-7 years of direct experience in leading an annual giving program and must provide demonstrable evidence of a skill set in utilizing data metrics to drive programming and decision-making. A bachelor's degree is required, but a Master's degree paired with strong professional experience will give candidates a preferred edge.

Director of High Adventure
Hampden-Sydney College invites applications for the position of Director of High Adventure. The Director of High Adventure works closely with students and all members of the campus community and aims to provide students and the greater community with quality outdoor experiences that ultimately promote personal enrichment and community enhancement.

The Director of High Adventure will promote the mission of Hampden-Sydney College to all faculty, staff, students and to the community at large. The Director will promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff and students, will work with a diverse group of individuals, enhance leadership opportunities for students, and supervise off campus excursions with students. Furthermore, the Director will design and produce fliers and other advertising media in context with the High Adventure Series. The Director will assist with the promotion and logistics of summer camps using the ropes course and with student orientations. In addition, the Director will handle reports for the High Adventure activities data for outcomes assessment and institutional effectiveness reports and will complete required institutional, program accreditation, and other reports as necessary for the operation and advancement of College programs. Will oversee the Beyond the Hill program and collaboratively work with student outdoor groups. The Director will participate on College committees and will perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, preferably with coursework in recreation, science and education. Extensive experience with camping and/or experiential education field, confidence and experience in supervising and teaching students in large and small groups, experience with program and event planning, experience in marketing and public relations, computer skills in Microsoft programs, excellent written and oral communication skills, and preferred experience with working directly with College students and volunteers.

Audio Visual/Hardware Support Technician 
Responsibilities include audio visual equipment, software and hardware support, including the repair and deployment of campus hardware. Support includes PCs, Macs, mobile devices and A/V equipment. Provide training to student technical assistants. Transports, sets up and dismantles media equipment for presentations across campus. Performs and oversees routine maintenance of classroom media equipment including LCD projectors, VCR players, DVD players, sound systems, and control systems. Provide hardware support to faculty, staff, and students. Software support duties include current versions of Windows/Macintosh/iOS/Android. Software support of productivity and academic software packages (MS Office Suite, email clients, Web Browsers, etc.) on college owned and personal devices. Serve as integral part of Client Services to deploy up to date systems, and maintain current inventory of campus resources to identify necessary upgrades. Maintain up to date images for use on college owned devices. Perform basic Wi-Fi/Network troubleshooting on devices.

Qualifications: Any appropriate combination of college level course work or technical training in hardware and software support is preferred. Minimum of 3 years previous experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires strong organizational and customer service skills and computer support knowledge especially of Windows 7 and 10.

The website and booklet contain information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as: crime prevention, fire safety, campus security law enforcement authority, crime reporting policies, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security and safety on campus. They also contain information about crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by H-SC; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.
