This course develops the ideas of limits, continuity, differentiability, and other calculus concepts rigorously.

Course Grade

  • Homework/Quiz: 50%
  • Midterm exam: 20%
  • Class Participation: 10%
  • Final exam: 20%

Homework Policy

  • Homework will be due approximately weekly. Due dates will be announced well ahead of time.
  • Late homework is not accepted.

Midterm and Final Exam

  • Tentative date for midterm exam: Monday, October 14.
  • Comprehensive final exam: to be determined.

Attendance Policy

  • Class attendance is mandatory. I will take attendance at the beginning of each class. If you are not in class when attendance is taken, you will be counted as absent for the entire class. Absences are handled as described in the catalog. In particular, 4 or more unexcused absences may result in your automatic withdrawal from the course.

Make-Up Policy

  • If you find that you will miss the announced due date of any assignment, you must let me know beforehand. If I determine that you have a valid reason for missing the assignment, we can then arrange an alternate due date.
