Why Hire a Tiger
Hampden-Sydney College, the tenth-oldest college in the nation, is dedicated to forming "good men and good citizens." The College prides itself on educating well-rounded men who, through an in-depth rhetoric program and core curriculum, learn how to think critically and communicate effectively. Employers praise our students' integrity and ability to write.
The Ferguson Career Center is dedicated to supporting our students and alumni in whatever path they choose to pursue. "You can do anything with a degree from Hampden-Sydney" is our motto. We nurture our partnerships with employers in a variety of ways:
- we provide tailored, branded information sessions and other on-campus events to help you find your next employee,
- we use Handshake, a convenient job and internship posting board for advertising positions,
- we provide interview rooms for on-campus, video, and phone interviews
How to Hire a Tiger
Want to recruit a fellow alumnus or current student?
We’d love for you to create an account on Handshake. If you are new to Handshake, follow the Handshake instructions. If you have a Handshake account, we encourage you to label your job and internship opportunities with the labels, “HSC Alumni Posting”, “Family/Friends of H-SC”, and “Experiential Learning.” If you have trouble labeling your opportunity, email email@example.com the direct link to the positon, and our office can attach the links for you.
How else can you support our office?
We value contributions of your time and experience to our students. Whether you offer your time for informational interviews, serve as a mentor, or simply give guidance your time and expertise is greatly appreciated. For more information on connecting with current Tigers, contact the Ferguson Career Center at (434) 223-6106.
By joining the Employer Partnership Program, your organization can develop a strong brand at Hampden-Sydney College resulting in increased visibility with our highly talented and diverse student population. Our Career Center works with your organization to maximize the impact of campus outreach, visibility, access to students by an exclusive pipeline, and to provide consultation with Career Services staff, university faculty, and administrators.
H-SC Career Services graciously accepts contributions from our valued employers to help support the important programs and services we offer to students. Through the Employer Partner Program, employers can make a significant impact on our career development resources.
