Hampden-Sydney College’s founding mission “to form good men and good citizens” is still in practice today as we strive to enrich the personal and civic lives of our students. The College has had great success in preparing young men for leadership positions with professional, civic, fraternal, religious, and political institutions and associations.
$120,000 Scholarship for Boys State participants
Granted as $30,000 per year for four years for new students beginning in the fall of 2027
Any accepted applicant who has participated in Boys State and attends Hampden-Sydney College will receive this award. However, if the student is granted one of the College’s merit-based scholarships below the level of $30,000 per year, the Citizen-Leader Scholarship will take its place. If the student is granted a merit-based scholarship at the level of $30,000 or above per year, he will retain the merit-based scholarship and will receive an additional $1,000 per year for being a Boys State Participant.
