Founded in 1775, we are the 10th oldest institution of higher learning in the United States and one of the few remaining colleges dedicated exclusively to educating men.

You can choose from 25 majors and 28 minors toward a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree—that's 50+ majors, minors, and special programs to help you find your passions, gifts, and purpose.
The cornerstone of Hampden-Sydney's academic experience, the Rhetoric Program offers a minor in Rhetoric and assures that every young man who graduates will know how to express himself clearly and confidently.
Hands-on research allows Hampden-Sydney men to spend a significant part of their education outside the classroom working side by side with professors on real problems and gaining invaluable experience.
With guided access to internships, study abroad, research, service learning, and hands-on classroom experiences, Compass gives every student the tools to navigate his future toward top jobs and graduate programs.

» Any accepted applicant who has participated in Boys State will receive $30K/year ($120K total)

Application Information
Prospective students may apply using the H-SC Online Application or the Common Application and may choose from five application deadlines:
- Early Decision I (binding) - Deadline: October 15
- Early Action I (non-binding) - Deadline: November 2
- Early Action II (non-binding) - Deadline: December 1
- Early Decision II (binding) - Deadline: January 15
- Regular Decision - Deadline: February 1
All applicants must submit:

(test-optional available for class entering the fall of 2027)
