Dr. Reichart is highly interested in pursuing research with students in several areas of study. One current research focus is the study of transmembrane domains from viral proteins, including SARS-CoV-2, other coronaviruses, and HIV. Other research areas include a variety of topics in peptide and protein chemistry, incuding the use of peptides as catalysts for organic reactions, the chemical synthesis of large proteins using selfassembly, and the discovery of new potential antibiotics.
