Rocket Pitch

Icon representing a rocket taking offThe Flemming Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Rocket Pitch competition is a fast-paced, high-energy event where students present their business, product, or passion-driven ideas in just four minutes. It’s an incredible opportunity for students to sharpen their storytelling, get real-time feedback, and spark interest from peers, mentors, and potential collaborators.

Each Rocket Pitch competition has one $200 winner who then qualifies for the end-of-the-semester Rocket Pitch FACE-OFF! Winners of the fall and spring FACE-OFF finals receive a guaranteed spot in the SEED Innovation Hub Demo Day held in April. Demo Day is the yearly pitch competition where Longwood University and Hampden-Sydney showcase their student ventures to the community. With local donors, sponsors, and regional judges, Demo Day is a celebration of BIG IDEAS!

Rules:

  • Submit Rocket Pitch application
  • Attend one Rocket Pitch Workshop (required before competing)
  • Submit slide deck 24 hours prior to selected pitch date
  • Winners may pitch a different idea at future Rocket Pitch events; Non-winners may return to pitch again
