Students explore methods across multiple disciplines while developing expertise in both theory and practical applications. The program emphasizes independent research projects that allow students to collaborate with local institutions and engage directly with community stakeholders. Advanced coursework covers specialized topics including digital storytelling, cultural resource management, and community-based historical projects.
The Atkinson Museum offers students volunteer opportunities, Student Museum Board positions, and special exhibit collaborations with the museum director. Students join the Architectural Society for activities focused on historic buildings.
